Wolf Range Repair in Fauntleroy
Conditions here
- Air Sound air by the dock Wolf lists humidity among the causes of a poor gas flame, so we test every burner here, not only the weak one.
- Building Houses close to the terminal Some streets here feed straight into the dock traffic, so tell us which side of the terminal you are on.
- Access Ferry queues on the main road On busy sailings the line for the boat can hold up a lane, so we plan an approach that keeps us out of it.
Fauntleroy wraps around the ferry dock on West Seattle’s south-west edge, and the air in its kitchens comes straight off the Sound. Wolf names excessive humidity among the causes of a poor gas flame, next to dirty burners, caps sitting askew and an orifice that needs adjusting. Wolf Repair Seattle, (206) 339-4211, watches the flame at every burner, then checks the caps and ports, and only then the valve and orifice behind any burner that still runs weak.
A flame that burns low or uneven
Wolf describes a healthy natural gas flame as blue, with a deep blue inner cone and no trace of yellow. Its own checklist starts with the simple things: burners clean and dry, and the rings and caps seated properly. After a boil-over, a burner that is still wet can light patchily until it dries out.
When a clean, seated burner still gives a weak, yellow or lopsided flame, the fault is further in: the valve that meters gas to that burner or the orifice at its base. That work has its own band on the burner valve and orifice cost page, and our range repair page covers the rest of the range. If every burner goes weak at once, the supply to the house may be the issue, and that belongs to the gas utility or a gas fitter.
Up the hill, Gatewood sits above the dock and away from its traffic.
